Plumb-Pak Tap Top Headwork 3/8, Excellent item. Was the perfect replacement for my original

I had lots of problems with my hot and cold taps, and replaced both internals with the plumb-pak fitting. Fortunately the dimensions were identical to the old ones, and have worked perfectly since being installed.

Plumb-Pak Tap Top Headwork 3/8 – 1/2 inch

  • Tap Top Headwork
  • For 3/8″ or 1/2″
  • Pack of 1

Very good price and quality replacement for bathroom basin valve very. Very good price and quality replacement for bathroom basin valve very pleased ordered saturday arrived sunday you can’t go wrong.

I bought one of these products but it would fit exactly for the tap i would like to replace. The height seems different for my old one, and also it missed the thread for the top cover. Need to compare the details with the old one next time.

Came when all was lost in trying to find a solution to my no water tap. Fitted it in about 5 mins great , what a good product.

Plumb-Pak Tap Top Headwork 3/8 – 1/2 inch : Replacement for a tap that would not turn on. Very pleased with the result, as it saves the cost of a new pair of taps and the hassle of fitting them.

Perfect replacement for 1992 armitage shanks basin tap headwork. Plumb-pak tap top headwork 3/8 – 1/2 inchi bought one of these as a replacement for the faulty headwork in a circa 1992 armitage shanks bathroom wash basin tap. With some difficulty, i had recently removed the old headwork – using brute force, a wrench and the box spanner/toiler roll inner method – to check what was wrong with it and to get an idea of sizes, so this time it unscrewed easily just using a wrench. The new headwork screwed in without any problems. In fact, it was an easier job than replacing a washer. I have 2 other wash basins with the same model of tap, all circa 1992, so i’ve ordered 5 more of these headworks so i can replace all of them.

    1. Just what it was meant to be. . This was exactly what it should have been, it worked fine and was easy to install.

Fix that non running tap now without a plumber. . When your tap stops flowing swap the head work out yourself. Cilit bang the tap to help loosen any chrome tap covers. Unscrew the hot / cold tap signs that indicate h or c ( of course). Any additional chrome covers unscrew. Pullout old headwork swap with new. Use the screw that came with the head work to put tap head back. If you have additional chrome covers behind the tap there is no thread to reattach so these will be lose or will spin. Won’t come off and no one will notice except your partner.

Easy to fit and cheaper than changing the taps over. Bought this as our bathroom tap no longer worked, and after 6 months of ‘coping’ (some might say barely coping), we were going to take the plunge and change the sink and bath taps. A tiny bit of research and fiddling with the mechanism produced the a-ha moment when we realised we just needed to switch over the internal mechanism. Very easy to do, took less than 10 minutes all round and easily saved us over £200. Wish we’d done it 6 months prior, it would have been an easier winter to get through.
